it was bizarrely awesome and domestic sort of day. 

i think we're going to have to put aiden back on the higher dose of meds.  i believe it was the allergy medicine we'd just started him on that had been making him ill and he's started getting in trouble at school and at home again.  we had a serious, serious talk with him tonight.  i'll be glad when i'm truely done with school and can really focus on getting him straightened out for good.  sigh...  he's just be so unlike himself lately. 

i woke with a mean sore throat.  the hubby made me noodles and a fresh pot of tea for breakfast.  i popped back some ibuprofen and a benadryl like the doc told me last time i had this crap from my sinus issues and within a few hours i was a functional human being again.  mostly.  lol...  i went to the grocery store and blew 3/4 of our remaining food budget for the month - but i think i got enough to last us  through the month.  i spent so much because so much i could freeze was on SALE!  meat was CHEAP today!!!  so - we're really good to ge for a while and i am relieved.  the rest of the food budget can go to gas money, and anything else that pops up.  fingers crossed we can stay within budget this month.  last month we really, really did not.  but i've been keeping a sharp eye on things this month.

once i finished my thesis revisions last night we had the stew for dinner i had made friday night.  OMG it was BEYOND my wildest dreams delicious.  r and i scarffed it down like it was going out of style!!!  OH MAN!!!  really - i felt m cooking pride go up a notch on that one.  next time i add celery and broccolli and fresh corn to the mix.  and i'm going to dice the potatoes into tiny chunks so they will be bite sized.  i made a loaf of garlic bread to go with it and it was soooooo good dipping it in the juices.  ::drools::  there a serving left and i hope r takes it to work tomorrow.  it always makes me feel good to hear i've made his co-workers jealous.  :) 

tonight i made meat loaf which i haven't made in at least a year.  i added some stuff to it and it turned out better than i had ever made it before.  a little drier, because i drained it too early like a moron, but the flavor was spot on.  even aiden - who normally won't try new foods - LOVED it and asked for seconds!!!  HURRAY!!!  so left overs likely for tomorrow night.  YAY!!! 

today i got the cleaning bug and did a lot of straightening up around the house.  it really, really needed it!!!  sadly.  and it felt good to get things looking if not spotless, at least reasonable.  i've decided i need to re-calk the counters around the sink.  i don't think they're sealed the way they ought to be and i don't want any water damage.  need to put it on my list o' shite to do once i graduate!  i'm so excited about that.  dr. busch e-mailed me and said he'd get the next revisions to me by tomorrow.  that's awesome!!!  i'll have a few days to work on it before my deadline to get it to the rest of the committee.  that's really good news!!!  i really hope i can pull this thesis out of my ass and be done with this whole business.  i'm tired of it.  how many times have I said that?  sheesh!!!

true blood was really great tonight.  getting further from the way things went in the book tonight - but you know - its damn good.  somethings i felt were done better logically in the book - but the show is good to watch aside from that.  jason is an idiot.  i want to hit him with blunt things frequently.  i adore tara.  bill is slowly winning me over - even though he throws in those horribly cheesy lines now and then.  eric is still the awesome.  i'm just going to have to live with the not as hot as the book eric actor.  dude just isn't tall enough for me.  nor viking enough for me.  poo.  really - i hate jason.  i hate jason.  douche BAG!!!  ugh!!!  i REALLY REALLY hope they stay true to pam's character.  we've only ever seen her at the club - so she's not being herself, so i'm holding out hope that she'll be her super awesome amazingly funny self soon.  CAN'T WAIT for next week. hope they don't screw up the sookie and sam parts that should happen.  anybody catch it tonight so i can gush with you?  i don't want to spoil anything so i'm trying to be good in this open post.

alas kitties, i am off to bed.  hope everyone's weekend was awesome.  i gotta go snug my bunny.  the rare time he's gone to bed before i do - gotta take advantage.  ::smooches and snuggins::
